The History of Rockapsco

In the spring of 2017, Jeff 'Slacker' Schramm and Jeff 'Swatso' Watson started a PDGA sanctioned league between Rockburn & Patapsco. They named it 'Rockapsco' in a nod to both parks - Rockburn Branch in Elkridge, and Patapsco Valley State Park (McKeldin Area) in Marriottsville. 

This league continued for two years, bringing a lot of new and old players from around the state to compete at a couple of the best courses in Maryland. 

After the Fall 2019 league ended, Rockapsco took a forced hiatus due to COVID19, and it didn't see a return in 2020 or 2021. During that time, many of the Rockapsco players started their own leagues and events, and the Patapsco Valley Disc Golf Club was founded.

While the focus of the PVDGC is to bring Patapsco's disc golf course up-to-date and keep it cared for, we haven't forgotten this league that introduced many of us to competitive disc golf. 

Now over two years since the last Rockapsco round, the club is happy to announce the return of this beloved league to the Patapsco Valley!
